UK hair salon, Alchemy & I, has officially launched their first global salon in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
First launched in Hertfordshire, UK, during March 2019, Alchemy & I has always had its sights set on global domination, seeking to bring beauty lovers and self-care seekers high street access to indulgent experiences and the very best in hair and beauty.
Ran under the Silver Fern Group, a portfolio of hair and beauty businesses, the salon was met with rapturous success, quickly filling the diary and expanding their team from six members to 13 in just a year and a half, all while earning numerous award nominations.
CEO and Founder, Haylee Benton, has opened the next Alchemy & I venture in her hometown of Palmerston North, alongside the award-winning Sean Butt, the Salon-director. A New Zealand native, Haylee was visiting family when she fell in love with a building in the centre of the city.
So, with the encouragement of friends, family and most importantly, the Alchemy team, it was time for the brand to expand.
Months of planning went into turning the dream into a reality. While coping with the pressures of the global coronavirus pandemic, the salon was curated via Zoom, through which Haylee and Sean hired and trained the New Zealand team and designed the space themselves to create the Alchemy & I vision with a Kiwi touch.
Finally, on 7th November, Alchemy & I New Zealand was ready, officially opening their doors to the public – a bittersweet day after closing the UK salon just the day before due to the country’s new lockdown restrictions.
Led by Salon Manager Helen Tilyard, a team of Palmerston North’s best hairdressers have been busy transforming and pampering clients. Using the same principles as the UK salon, Alchemy & I is offering Palmerston North a place to experience a range of hair, beauty and aesthetic treatments that are all provided amongst the most indulgent of settings.
A salon with community at its heart, clients have travelled from across the nation to enjoy being thoroughly pampered while catching up with loved ones and enjoying glitzy cocktails and bubbles, leading a fully booked diary within Alchemy’s first week.
